Privacy Policy — Diagona (Simple Global Chat)

1. Information We Collect

• Account data: If you create an account, we may store a username and account identifier (UID) to attribute messages and enable moderation features.
• Messages: Text content of messages you post to the global chat. Messages are deleted automatically after 1 hours (server-side).
• Reports & Requests: If you use the in-app Report or Request Delete features, we store the report category, optional description, related message ID, reporter UID, and a timestamp for moderation.
• Device & diagnostics: Non-identifying device info (device model, OS version), crash reports, and basic analytics to improve app stability.
• Authentication data: Firebase Auth tokens and UIDs if you use Firebase authentication.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Deliver the core chat experience and route messages in real time.
• Moderation: review reports and remove abusive content.
• Support: troubleshoot issues you report and respond to support requests.
• Analytics: understand app usage to improve performance and reliability.

3. Message Retention & Auto-Delete

All chat messages are automatically deleted from our database 1 hours after creation. For testing purposes the team may temporarily run shorter retention periods; production retention is 1 hours.

We may retain limited metadata (for example, moderation records or logs) for a short, reasonable period for safety and abuse prevention. This retention is described in the "Retention & Deletion" section below.

4. Sharing & Third Parties

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We may share data with trusted third-party service providers who help operate the app (for example: Firebase for authentication, realtime database, and messaging). These providers act as processors on our behalf.
• We may disclose information to comply with legal obligations or to protect the rights and safety of others.

5. Your Controls & Choices

• Delete messages: You can request deletion of a message via the "Request Delete" feature. Moderators will review and remove content where appropriate.
• Block / Mute: Block removes another user’s content from your view. Mute silences notifications from a specific user.
• Account deletion: Use the in-app Delete Account option to remove your profile and associated data. Some logs may remain for a short period for security or legal reasons.
• Notifications: Turn app notifications on/off in Settings; muted users remain silent even when notifications are enabled.

6. Security

We protect data using industry standard practices: TLS for transit, access controls on server-side systems, and restricted admin access. However, no system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach we will notify affected users and authorities as required by law.

7. Children

Diagona is not intended for children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us to request deletion.

8. Data Safety for Play Store

On Play Console, we declare the following:

• User-provided data: messages (user-generated content) — collected and stored temporarily for 1 hours.
• Identifiers: account identifiers (UID) to correlate actions.
• Diagnostics: crash and analytics data.
• Sharing: we share with Firebase (realtime database, auth, messaging) and analytics processors.

9. Retention & Deletion

Messages: automatically removed after 1 hours. Reports, moderation logs and limited diagnostic logs may be retained for up to 30 days for safety and debugging, unless law requires otherwise.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top and, where appropriate, notify users in-app.
